As gas prices in American continue to spiral out of control, even Democrats are now uring Joe Biden to DO SOMETHING to alleviate the pain at the pump.
Eleven Senate Democrats have written a letter to President Biden, pleading for him to take action on skyrocketing gas prices. According to the American Automobile Association (AAA), the average price for gas is $3.42 per gallon, up $1.31 from last year.
In a letter sent to the President on Monday, 11 Democratic U.S. Senators made their plea to Biden: “consider all tools available at your disposal to lower U.S. gasoline prices” including “a release from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve and a ban on crude oil exports.”
Earlier this week, White House Deputy Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre failed to discuss specifics or provide any solution at all to the growing crisis during a recent press conference.
When a reporter asked Jean-Pierre what can be done – other than the obvious action of tapping reserves – the Deputy Press Secretary didn’t have anything encouraging to say.
“You know, we have — we don’t have an announcement yet on anything — anything to share at this time,” she responded. “You know, but we’re monitoring it. Right? We’re monitoring the prices and we’re making sure that we have tools in our toolbelts that we can — we can — we can try and use. But at this time, I don’t have anything new to share.”
