Democracy Won Last Week While Socialism Got Crushed, Freedom To Vote Act Dies On Senate Floor

This last week has been terrible for the Socialist Democratic Party, but it has been a sigh of relief for the majority of Americans who have been waiting for the other shoe to drop.  The chicanery of the Left leaning members of Congress has been stymied, but we shouldn’t be fooled into thinking that the opposition will just give up.

The best legislative defeat was the failure to pass The Freedom to Vote Act which died miserably on the Senate floor just this week after being in a state of suspended animation because it could not pass the Senate for several months.  The stalemate was based upon partisan lines, with Republican Senators holding the line.  The bill was sold to the American Voter as an absolute good.  The Socialist Democrat public statements about this Act was a far cry for what they intended it for.

“This bill addresses voter registration and voting access, election integrity and security, redistricting, and campaign finance.  Specifically, the bill expands voter registration (e.g., automatic and same-day registration) and voting access (e.g., vote-by-mail and early voting). It also limits removing voters from voter rolls.”

This was sold as an expansion of voting rights so that every voice in America would count.  It sounds good, but the reality is far darker than the lofty sales pitch that was used.  The Freedom to Vote Act would have created national automatic voter registration, co-opting voters to cast ballots by mail, expanding the very real threat of voter fraud.  The use of phony mail in ballots have been well documented, but has been largely ignored by the mainstream media. The scams include mail in ballots filled out by persons assuming the identity of those who have been long dead, stealing the vote away from a living person by filling out his/her mail in ballot without their consent or knowledge, and hitting up assisted-living homes and “helping” the elderly fill out their absentee ballots.  The end result is that stuffing the ballot box with fraudulent votes will ensure victory. No matter what the cost.

The legislation was an effort by Democrats to force a major overhaul before the November elections, presumably to secure their victories in the upcoming elections not by majority vote but by fraud.  Sadly, when there was pushback from Republican Lawmakers, the refusal to go along with this farce took on a racial overtone. President Joe Biden and Democrat Lawmakers have often made inflammatory statements alleging that not passing this bill will make it harder for Black Americans and others to vote.  The implication made is that if you don’t support passage of the bill, you must be a racist.

Just recently the Senate Democrats even went so far to hold a vote proposed by Senate Majority Leader Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) that moved to end the Filibuster Rule.  In plain terms it means that they moved at warp speed to propose a rules change allowing for the bill’s advancement with a simple majority of 51 votes.  The end of the Filibuster Rule would give the Democrat majority license to pass all they have on their progressive wish list, with zero viable opposition. It goes to show that when the chips are down, changing the rules can be an acceptable practice to get what you want, even when one alleged to abhor such tactics.  For Chuck Schumer, his opposition to changing the filibuster rules in 2005 was well documented. As taken from (direct quote)

“Bottom line is very simple: The ideologues in the Senate want to turn what the Founding Fathers called ‘the cooling saucer of democracy’ into the rubber stamp of dictatorship. We will not let them. They want, because they can’t get their way on every judge, to change the rules in mid-stream, to wash away 200 years of history. They want to make this country into a banana republic, where if you don’t get your way, you change the rules. Are we going to let them? It’ll be a doomsday for democracy if we do.”

Although the hypocrisy is appalling, it’s not surprising.  He’s flipped his “principles” on many issues when it comes to securing his own political power.

Thankfully the Senate rejected that maneuver 52 to 48, with two Democrats, Joe Manchin (WV.) and Kyrsten Sinema (AZ.), joining all 50 Republicans in opposition, effectively putting the kibosh on the ill named Freedom to Vote Act.

However, as this legislative battle ends, the battle for public opinion is set to begin.  I have often wondered why Chuck Schumer would push so hard to end the Filibuster Rule, knowing well in advance that it would end in failure.  The only conclusion I could reach was that the Democrats now have a political talking point when the 2022 mid-term elections close them out of the majority.  I can see him running to a friendly press microphone, decrying that the mid-terms were stolen by “racist” Republicans who stopped people of color from voting by blocking the Freedom to Vote Act.

Pesky little things like factual data never enter the minds of politicians who want to enflame tensions for their own ends.  The voting statistics from the Black and White community in the US after the last Federal Election.

The percentage of American registered Black voters in 2020 was 64.7%.  58.7% of the registered voters voted in the 2020 election.

The percentage of American registered White voters in 2020 was 69.1%.  63.7% of the registered voters voted in the 2020 election.

The difference between those registered and those who voted from both groups were almost identical, 6%.

I truly believe there will be a massive shift in our electorate after the 2022 mid-term elections. I also believe that this sweep will come from American voters from all economic/social backgrounds and that the Republican wins will not solely come from White voters, as being fed to us by Democrats and their cronies in the media.  As responsible Americans, we have to continue looking past the dense political fog being used to divide us.
