Virginia Lieutenant Governor Winsome Sears (R) stopped by Fox & Friends on Tuesday to discuss the left’s pathetic cries for “pandemic amnesty” — a ridiculous idea put forward by Atlantic op-ed contributor and Brown University Professor Emily Oster to dodge blame for the disastrous outcomes Americans suffered due to the draconian measures put in place by the Democrats during Covid-19.

“We have to put these fights aside and declare a pandemic amnesty. We can leave out the willful purveyors of actual misinformation while forgiving the hard calls that people had no choice but to make with imperfect knowledge,” Oster writes.

Teachers union president Randi Weingarten, who is largely responsible for keeping children and teachers home during the COVID pandemic, echoed Oster’s sentiments —much to the annoyance of conservatives across the country.

“The bottom line is everyone suffered in the pandemic… because of the pandemic. The disruption was everywhere, and it was bad regardless of whether schools were remote or in person. We are focused now on the urgent need to help kids recover and thrive,” Weingarten tweeted.

But Virginia Lieutenant Governor Winsome Sears wasn’t going to let Weingarten off that easy.

“She was one of the major proponents of closing our schools. And unfortunately, most of these Democrat governors listened to her and did exactly that,” Sears said after the teachers’ union head tried to deflect blame for school closures and other COVID restrictions in school.

“Now they’re saying, oh, you know, just forget about it. No, the problems are existing where our children did not learn.”

“The message is that we need to have our schools back,” Sears told “Fox & Friends” hosts. “Our children don’t get do-overs. They have one shot at childhood. And then after that, they have to pay for it.”

“We knew that these COVID policies were not working,” Sears said. “It wasn’t COVID that shut the schools down; it was the politicians who shut the schools down.”
