BREAKING: Trump-Backed Harriet Hageman Defeats 6-Term Wyoming Incumbent Liz Cheney

Published on

It’s over. Liz Cheney’s political career has officially been taken off of life support as Trump-endorsed Harriet Hageman defeated the 6-term incumbent in Wyoming’s GOP House Primary Race Tuesday night. Hageman will now face Lynnette GreyBull for Wyoming’s First District in the November general election.

Liz Cheney conceded with 21% of the vote in. During her speech, Cheney said she could “have easily won” if she had “gone along with President Trump’s lie.”

“This election is over, but now the real work begins,” the Vice Chair of the January 6th Hearing Committee told the crowd during her concession speech before comparing herself to the likes of Abraham Lincoln while hinting at a run for President.

Hageman who has been ahead by nearly 30 points in the polls against career politician Cheney heading into the GOP House Primary suggested that the race would be an absolute blow out which it ultimately was.

Hageman beat Cheney with 60% of the vote to Cheney’s 35% before the congresswoman conceded to Hageman. Hageman garnered 22,435 votes to Cheney’s 13,000 as of Cheney’s concession speech which was delivered at approximately 8:20 local time.

Cheney, who was one of 10 house republicans to vote to impeach Donald Trump, was in such bad shape leading into the Wyoming Primary that she began pandering to Democrats for votes by teaching them how to switch party affiliation just so they could vote for her Tuesday. Clearly, the tactic failed miserably.
