BARREN JOE: Biden Bleeds U.S. Petroleum Reserves To Lowest Level In 40 Years

Don’t say we didn’t warn you – which we did – a million times. When Joe Biden announced he was going to start tapping our Strategic Petroleum Reserves, we warned our readers of the catastrophic consequences this may inflict on the American people in the long term, and sure enough, heading into the winter months, we are now at our lowest levels in 40 years.

The decline in emergency reserves occurs months ahead of the winter season. According to the Farmer’s Almanac, the United States could be positioned to experience a “cold December and a very cold January.”

According to a report from The Daily Wire, President Joe Biden has drained the Strategic Petroleum Reserve levels to their lowest in four decades.

From The Daily Wire:

President Joe Biden has responded to rising gas prices by releasing one million barrels of oil per day from the Strategic Petroleum Reserves — a stock of emergency crude oil created to “reduce the impact of disruptions in supplies of petroleum products.” Though reserves in January 2021 were as high as 638 million barrels, reserves have fallen to 461 million barrels as of August 2022 — a level not seen since March 1985.

“The scale of this release is unprecedented: the world has never had a release of oil reserves at this 1 million per day rate for this length of time,” the White House said in a statement earlier this year. “This record release will provide a historic amount of supply to serve as bridge until the end of the year when domestic production ramps up.”

Not only has Biden indirectly caused the shortage of oil through policies none other than his own, including cutting America off from buying cheap oil from Russia and ditching the Keystone XL Pipeline on his first day in office, but he is also recklessly giving away millions of barrels to foreign countries, China being one of them.

U.S. Senator Josh Hawley (R-Mo.), back in June sent a letter to Department of Energy (DOE) Inspector General Teri Donaldson demanding she investigates President Joe Biden’s recent ongoing release of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) to foreign competitors, including China.

According to Senator Hawley’s official government website, new reporting has revealed that, as a result of Biden’s unprecedented release of oil from America’s emergency reserves, more than 5 million barrels of oil have already been shipped overseas to American competitors, draining the SPR to its lowest level since 1985.

“While Americans are paying record gasoline and diesel fuel prices, the Biden administration appears to have been letting our strategic oil stockpiles flow to foreign countries and entities,” Senator Hawley wrote. “Critically, the American people deserve answers as to how exactly the Department justified sending oil from the SPR to China. DOE’s recent transfer of nearly one million barrels of oil to UNIPEC is just one concerning example.”

Senator Hawley called for IG Donaldson to explain, among other things, whether DOE has any internal controls in place to prevent the transfer of oil to countries like China and to quantify exactly how many barrels of oil ultimately served foreign markets.
