Here Are The Woke Businesses Vowing To Cover Abortion Travel Costs For Its Employees’

It didn’t take long for several woke businesses to announce that they would cover travel costs for their employees who needed to pop out for a quick abortion after the Supreme Court ruled to overturn Roe Vs. Wade on Friday.

Businesses as early as May started announcing that they would pay for their employees to travel across state lines to get an abortion should they live in a state where the procedure was to be banned.

Several more companies joined the woke wagon once the official decision was announced by the Supreme Court that restrictions on abortions would now be handed back to the states.

DISNEY: Of course, Tragic Kindom is first on the list of woke companies who agree that killing babies should be funded by the federal government. Executives from the $200 billion company said “Our company remains committed to removing barriers and providing comprehensive access to quality and affordable care for all of our employees, cast members and their families, including family planning and reproductive care, no matter where they live.”

“We have processes in place so that an employee who may be unable to access care in one location has affordable coverage for receiving similar levels of care in another location,” the executives continued. “This travel benefit covers medical situations related to cancer treatments, transplants, rare disease treatment, and family planning (including pregnancy-related decisions).”

DICK’S SPORTING GOODS: CEO Lauren Hobart said on Friday that the company is “prepared to ensure that all of our teammates have consistent and safe access to the benefits we provide, regardless of the state in which they live.”

“In response to today’s ruling, we are announcing that if a state one of our teammates lives in restricts access to abortion, DICK’S Sporting Goods will provide up to $4,000 in travel expense reimbursement to travel to the nearest location where that care is legally available,” she continued. “This benefit will be provided to any teammate, spouse, or dependent enrolled in our medical plan, along with one support person.”

JP MORGAN: According to Daily Wire, investment bank JP Morgan already covers abortions, but revealed on Friday that it will also pay for employees to obtain them out-of-state.

LEVI STRAUSS: After Roe was overturned, Levi Strauss again affirmed that it would oppose “any steps to restrict access to the full range of reproductive health care, including abortion” in the name of “gender and racial equity.”

TESLA: A report released in May by electric carmaker Tesla showed that the company added: “travel and lodging support for those who may need to seek healthcare services that are unavailable in their home state” to its safety net and health insurance offerings last year. Daily Wire reported that Tesla recently moved its headquarters to Texas, and Attorney General Ken Paxton (R-TX) announced on Friday that “abortion is now illegal” in the Lone Star State.

AMAZON: the e-commerce conglomerate said that it would provide as much as $4,000 in travel expenses for employees who want to go out of state to get an abortion.

META (Facebook): Meta Platforms said Friday that it intends to reimburse travel costs for employees seeking an out-of-state abortion “to the extent permitted by law.”

“We are in the process of assessing how best to do so, given the legal complexities involved,” the tech giant said in a statement.

CONDE NAST: The global media company said Friday that it will reimburse travel and lodging expenses for employees who cannot legally obtain abortion, infertility, or gender-affirming services locally.

ZILLOW: The online real estate portal said Friday that it will reimburse employees up to $7,500 to travel significant distances for reproductive services, gender-affirming care, and other procedures. The expanded benefits went into effect June 1.

BUZZFEED: Buzzfeed will provide a stipend to employees to travel out of state to access legal abortion services, CEO Jonah Peretti wrote in an email to employees Friday.

STARBUCKS: The coffee chain told employees last month that it would reimburse travel expenses for an abortion or gender-affirming procedure that is not available within 100 miles of an employee’s home.

“Regardless of what the Supreme Court ends up deciding, we will always ensure our partners have access to quality healthcare,” Starbucks executive Sara Kelly told employees. “And when actions impact your access to healthcare, we will work on a way to make sure you feel supported.”

YELP: The online review platform announced in April that it would reimburse travel costs for employees seeking an abortion who can’t access services in their home state.

“We’ve long been a strong advocate for equality in the workplace, and believe that gender equality cannot be achieved if women’s healthcare rights are restricted,” Yelp Chief Diversity Officer Miriam Warren said in a statement.

MICROSOFT:

Microsoft announced last month that it will reimburse expenses for employees traveling out of state for abortion services or gender-affirming care. The software giant said in a statement it would do everything it could under the law to “protect our employees’ rights and support employees and their enrolled dependents in accessing critical healthcare.”

According to TheHill.com, Apple, Citigroup, Mastercard, Netflix, and Lyft will all offer financial assistance to employees seeking abortions.
