White House Says Biden Not Interested In ‘Understanding’ With DeSantis On Migrants

Published on

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre snapped back at a reporter after being asked a question about Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in relation to his recent act of kindness regarding sending migrants to Martha’s Vineyard.

The reporter asked if President Joe Biden had contacted Gov. DeSantis about the migrants he has been sending to Democrat cities.

“Did the White House ever try to get in touch with Governor DeSantis or Governor Abbott about this to try to reach some type of understanding or a solution?” NPR White House correspondent Franco Ordoñez said.

Speaking on behalf of President Joe Biden, Jean-Pierre made it very clear that “there’s no understanding to be reached.”

“I mean, there’s no understanding to be reached. They are using people who are leaving communist countries as a political stunt instead of maybe what they should do is call on their senators in their state. Call on, you know, Senator Marco Rubio. Ask Senator Rick Scott why is it that they did not vote for historic funding when it comes to Department of Homeland Security, making sure that we are dealing with this issue. That’s not what they did,” the press secretary said.

“This is, again, a political stunt that they are taking for their own — for their own political narrative. It is not about really dealing with what is happening and coming up with a solution,” she said.

Florida GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis received a standing ovation at a rally in Kansas City, Missouri, after he mentioned that he transported 50 illegal immigrants to Martha’s Vineyard.

During a rally in Kansas for state Attorney General Derek Schmidt, the GOP gubernatorial candidate, DeSantis spoke about how he sent two planes full of illegals from Florida to the wealthy liberal-dominated island last week.

“The one place in the country where we see virtually no law and order is at the southern border. And this is a crisis,” DeSantis said. “It’s now getting a little more attention.”

“This is a crisis. It is a crisis. And it’s a manufactured crisis because of Biden’s failed policies,” DeSantis said as the crowd gave him a standing ovation.

DeSantis pointed out, “You’re talking about 50 people. Did they get them employed? Did they get them set up? No. They called out the National Guard and they deported those people off the island the very next day.”
