MUSK FOR THE WIN: Fires Employees Who Wrote A Letter Bashing Elon’s ‘Behavior’ And ‘Values’

In what world is it acceptable to publicly shame your boss, criticize his ‘behavior’ and ‘values’, and then expect to not get fired for it? Maybe in a parallel universe, the ‘woke’ think it’s ok, but not in Elon’s.

SpaceX employees circulated an open letter criticizing CEO Elon Musk for his “behavior in the public sphere.” The employees responsible for the attack have since been fired, according to a Friday report from The New York Times.

“Elon’s behavior in the public sphere is a frequent source of distraction and embarrassment for us, particularly in recent weeks,” the letter, first obtained by The Verge, asserted. “As our CEO and most prominent spokesperson, Elon is seen as the face of SpaceX — every tweet that Elon sends is a de facto public statement by the company.”

The employees then took it upon themselves to slam Elon Musk for exercising his first amendment rights here in America suggesting that Musk shouldn’t be speaking so freely on social media because it doesn’t reflect Space X’s work, mission, or values.

“It is critical to make clear to our teams and to our potential talent pool that his messaging does not reflect our work, our mission, or our values,” exhorting SpaceX to “swiftly and explicitly separate itself from Elon’s personal brand,” the employees also wrote in the letter.

Those responsible for coordinating the hit piece against Musk on Wednesday were told to clear out their desks by Thursday afternoon, according to COO Gwynne Shotwell.

Shotwell responded to the woke attack in her own statement, “The letter, solicitations and general process made employees feel uncomfortable, intimidated and bullied, and/or angry because the letter pressured them to sign onto something that did not reflect their views. We have too much critical work to accomplish and no need for this kind of overreaching activism.”

Elon Musk, a prominent advocate of free speech, who is close to purchasing Twitter for $44 billion dollars, told the big tech giant’s employees in a Thursday meeting that users should be able to post “pretty outrageous things” as the platform prioritizes “freedom of speech,” but not necessarily “freedom of reach.”

Critics on social media were quick to slam Musk accusing him of “violating his own freedom of speech rule”, yet supporters of the Space X CEO pointed out that these employees had no right to speak on behalf of Elon Musk by falsely representing the company in relation to its communications guidelines and that “they should keep their opinions to themselves and move on to greener pastures.”

Freedom of speech is one thing, but bashing your boss publicly and taking it upon yourself to publish an unauthorized press release attacking the CDO for what he does and says outside of office hours on his own personal time, is a huge no, no.

Good luck to those employees who are now trying to find another job as I’m pretty sure Musk won’t be giving them a recommendation.
