Yes, I know, Netflix has had its moments, but let’s be honest, what company hasn’t bowed to the cancel culture mob before realizing “woke ultimately goes broke”.
Of course, I too had my doubts there for a minute, but when they backed Dave Chapelle and his new comedy special, The Closer, in which he makes jokes about the trans-rights movement, I thought, hold up, let’s give this network a second chance. And I’m glad I did.
Netflix is clearly sick of the woke mob, including their own employees, and a new corporate culture memo proved just how far the streaming giant is willing to go restore freedom of speech and ideas to the platform.
Netflix has finally had enough of the woke mob and is taking a hardline stance on attempts to silence artistic expression by warning those who are offended by the streaming serviceās content that they may want to go find a job somewhere else.
According to DailyWire.com, the updated Netflix Culture memo includes a new section called āArtistic Expressionā that states that it will not ācensor specific artists or voicesā even if employees consider the content āharmful.ā
āIf youād find it hard to support our content breadth, Netflix may not be the best place for you,ā the memo states, later adding that employees may be required to work on projects that they āperceive to be harmfulā and that if they have a hard time accepting their work assignment, they might want to consider working somewhere else.
āEntertaining the world is an amazing opportunity and also a challenge because viewers have very different tastes and points of view. So we offer a wide variety of TV shows and movies, some of which can be provocative,ā the new section reads, later adding, āwe support the artistic expression of the creators we choose to work withā and that āwe let viewers decide whatās appropriate for them, versus having Netflix censor specific artists or voices.ā
