Guess nobody cared that U.S. Rep. Tom Rice (SC-R) was a 5-term incumbent. Vote to impeach Donald Trump – GONE! Liz Cheney, hope you’re taking notes.
Trump-backed Russell Fry destroyed Tom Rice in his primary race Tuesday. Rice was a 5-term incumbent who became a prime target in Trump’s midterm revenge campaign.
Fry won with over 51% of the vote compared to Rice’s 24%. Associated Press called the race with 98% of the vote in.

Rice was one of 10 congressional Republicans to vote for Trump’s impeachment and now is the first of that group to lose re-election. Some others opted not to run.
“The voters have spoken and Tom Rice is coming home,” Fry, a state legislator, told supporters in the strongly Republican district he is expected to win in the November general election. “Today, Donald Trump won.”
Donald Trump congratulated the South Carolina District 7 GOP winner on Truth Social. “Congratulations to Russell on running a great campaign!”
Nancy Mace, a second South Carolina target of Donald Trump survived her Primary race against Trump-backed Katie Arrington. Mace, unlike Rice, ran in a district that is much more moderate than Conservative District 7.
Nikki Haley-endorsed Incumbent Nancy Mace beat Trump-backed Katie Arrington in a tight race Tuesday for South Carolina’s First District. Mace, the freshman congresswoman, won with 53% of the votes to Arrington’s 45%. The Associated Press called the race with 85% of the votes in.
Donald Trump goes 1 for 1 in Tuesday’s Primaries, both endorsements in the state of South Carolina.
