U.S. Military Clamps Down On Free Speech, Due To ‘Rise Of Extremism’

Published on

The United States military has no doubt taken a turn for the worse since President Joe Biden moved into the White House. It seems they are more concerned with gay pride month and forcing medical experiments on its service members than protecting the constitution.

The military’s job is to protect WE the people, not get caught up in social issues or take the side of a certain political party. They have one job and one job only, to protect America, and if that means speaking out against their own superiors or Commander In Chief because they believe orders from the top aren’t doing exactly that, then so be it.

The problem, however, is that since Covid and the January 6th Capitol Riot, the military has taken more of an “I answer to whoever cashes may paycheck stance” rather than abiding by the oath they took. But not everyone has sold out to the corruption we face today here in America.

As a matter of fact, of the 884 criminal defendants charged to date with taking part in the January 6th Capitol Riot, more than 80 were veterans. That’s almost 10% of those charged.

Of the 80 veterans, at least 5 of the protestors were serving in the military at the time of the attack, 1 active-duty Marine officer, and four reservists, according to Military.com.

Instead of the Military taking a minute to reflect on the fact that 10% of their service members were passionate enough to take a stand against what they believed was a fraudulent election, they instead labeled them as “white nationalists” echoing rhetoric from the White House.

When is the last time you ever heard of the military calling its own service members white nationalists as well as claiming white nationalism is a “significant issue for the U.S. military” as they have consistently done so since January 6th? Before Joe Biden and the Democrats came along, the issue was non-existent.

The Military has clearly taken the side of Joe Biden and the Democrats, and just like the radical left who will do whatever it takes to destroy our constitutional rights, the U.S. military is now doing the same – and they are starting with free speech.

Since January 6th, Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin has tightened the rules regarding political speech within the military. The new rules prohibit any statement that advocates for “violence to achieve goals that are political … or ideological in nature.” The ban applies to members of the military both on and off duty – essentially they are no longer allowed to exercise their first amendment rights.

Also, for the first time, the new rules prohibit statements on social media that “promote or otherwise endorse extremist activities” including liking or retweeting a post.

One would think that Americans in uniform are still Americans, protected by the First Amendment and afforded the constitutional right of free speech, but nope, in order to get around the first amendment, soldiers and sailors must operate under a “diluted version” of it.

As one federal judge observed, the “sweep of the protection is less comprehensive in the military context, given the different character of the military community and mission.”

The “right to speak out as a free American” must be balanced against “providing an effective fighting force for the defense of our Country,” a federal judge noted in a separate case.

These and other federal judges point to the military’s need for good order and discipline in justifying this approach.

What is considered “good order and discipline” exactly? According to Military.com, “good order and discipline are generally considered being obedient to orders, having respect for one’s chain of command, and showing allegiance to the Constitution. Speech that “prevents the orderly accomplishment of the mission” or “promotes disloyalty and dissatisfaction” within the ranks harms good order and discipline and can be restricted.”

WOW! So who in the military decides what speech is “extremist speech”? I get the need for “good order and discipline”, but there is nothing disorderly about speaking out against a rouge government, or questioning the validity of an election, which is all our servicemen and woman were doing on January 6th.

The disgusting part of all of this is that the military is now taking sides rather than doing their job which is to, first and foremost, protect American Citizens against foreign and domestic enemies. Silencing free speech on its own service members is not protecting them, it’s taking sides of a Government that demands you fall in line regardless of whether the line has been crossed or not.

The Military has also reminded their service members while taking away their freedom of speech, that their “job is to fight, not debate”. The problem, however, is that for the first time in decades, the White House has divided the country so badly that it’s given our brave men and woman a reason to debate rather than focusing on their task at hand with a unified passion to protect America.

Perhaps the reason is that America for the first time ever is actually under attack by AMERICA.
