NO TIME TO WAIT: Hero Border Patrol Agent Rushed School To Kill Shooter, Did Not Wait For Backup

There’s been a lot of speculation over how law enforcement handled the Texas School Shooting that killed 19 students and 2 teachers Tuesday afternoon in Uvalde, Texas.

Rumors were circulating on social media Wednesday that local law enforcement was told to “stand down while they wait for S.W.A.T”, but now that officials are releasing more concrete information on what happened in the first few minutes of the shooting, we have now learned that one brave border patrol agent took matters into his own hands.

According to the Associated Press, a brave Border Patrol agent who was near Robb Elementary School at the time of the shooting on Tuesday realized there was no time to wait for backup —he rushed the school and ultimately killed the shooter.

“A Border Patrol agent who was nearby when the shooting began rushed into the school without waiting for backup and shot and killed the gunman, who was behind a barricade,” the Associated Press reported. “The agent was wounded but able to walk out of the school.”

Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin, who has extensively covered the Souther Border Crisis, corroborated the report on Twitter:

“NEW: Border Patrol sources tell me an elite BORTAC Border Patrol agent is believed to have shot and killed the gunman at Robb Elementary School today. I’m told he entered with a tactical team while TX LEOs were engaged w/ barricaded shooter. Agent was injured.”

Texas Governor Greg Abbott also publicly thanked the “courageous first responders” on Tuesday.

“Texans across the state are grieving for the victims of this senseless crime and for the community of Uvalde,” Texas Governor Greg Abbott said. “Cecilia and I mourn this horrific loss and we urge all Texans to come together to show our unwavering support to all who are suffering.”

“We thank the courageous first responders who worked to finally secure Robb Elementary School,” he continued. “I have instructed the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Texas Rangers to work with local law enforcement to fully investigate this crime. The Texas Division of Emergency Management is charged with providing local officials all resources necessary to respond to this tragedy as the State of Texas works to ensure the community has what it needs to heal.”
