A Kathy Hochul Win Will Destroy The Empire State’s Economy In A NY Minute

Published on

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul recently made headlines when she said “we are here to say that the era of Trump, and Zeldin and Molinaro, just jump on a bus and head down to Florida where you belong, ok? Get out of town. Because you do not represent our values. You are not New Yorkers”.

Although this statement was made about GOP politicians, make no mistake, it also reflects her views about conservative voters throughout New York State. She and her party want you gone if you do not conform to the Democratic agenda.

Long before Hochul rose to power, her predecessor Andrew Cuomo earned his stripes as the number one reason to leave the Empire State, never to come back. Hochul is obviously trying her best to beat Cuomo in her attempt to purge NY’s free-thinkers and liberty lovers.

From everything from gun rights to medical freedom to lower taxes basically any other state in the union, perhaps besides California, has more to offer than New York State. Hence, a mass exodus has already been going on in NYS for several years. Hochul doesn’t need to order anybody to leave, folks are already happily on their way out of the state and never looking back.

During the pandemic alone and not even counting the droves who left in years’ prior as counted by the U.S. Census, the state lost more than 300,000 people. While secretly beaming inside, even Hochul recognized this, calling it “the steepest population drop of any state in the nation” during her State of the State address this past January. NYS is hemorrhaging people.

The catastrophic loss of population also means a significant loss of tax revenue from the middle class and higher class earners making their exit. The numbers could become even more eye-opening starting this winter. God forbid the unthinkable happens and Kathy Hochul was somehow able to be re-elected this November, it will be game over for millions of New Yorkers. So many have decided to stay, to hold on just a little longer and fight. A Republican candidate, being elected, in this case, her challenger Congressman Lee Zeldin, is the last great hope.

If Zeldin loses, without exaggeration, people will be on Zillow that next morning and looking to pack their bags in earnest. I can’t at all blame anybody for leaving, either. Hochul is a tyrant as it is without being an elected governor, imagine if she were to win? Imagine the pure cockiness of Hochul having a perceived mandate to govern?

So with that, what of the dwindling amount of freedom-loving people who will still be remaining in NYS a year or two from now, in the event Zeldin loses? Some people for whatever reason are tied down and are not able to physically leave the state as refugees. Others will never leave out of principle. What if one could leave the state without actually having to move anywhere? As much of a longshot as it would be, if the survivors still would have the will in them to fight, the only last resort would be to split the state into three autonomous regions. There is a proposed bill, A04446/S4541, that would split NYS into a New Amsterdam Region, a New York Region, and a Montauk Region. This would essentially free the counties of Nassau, Suffolk, Westchester, Rockland, and all of upstate NY from the shackles of New York City-based rule. It wouldn’t be all a loss for NYC’s politicians, they would have the free reign to create the most authoritarian city-state conceivable in America but thankfully the rest of the state outside of NYC would not have to have anything to do with it.

While technically not splitting NYS into three separate ‘’states’’ which would require Congressional approval, the Split the State bill would legally allow each of the three regions to act separately from each other, almost as if they were three separate states. Hochul would still be Governor, but she would basically have no real power, she would be in a figurehead role. New governors of each autonomous region would be elected by their particular regions. The Montauk region or New Amsterdam region could hypothetically reverse the SAFE Act or put an ending to all medical authoritarian rules once and for all and the New York Region (NYC) could descend into all of the hellish chaos filled with vaccine passports that their hearts desire. I would feel bad for any of the slim amount of freedom-loving people that would be left behind in the proposed NYC region but at least a move for them to the Montauk region or New Amsterdam region would be a hell of a lot closer than a move down south. Perhaps in years ahead, New Amsterdam and Montauk regions would each be seen as a freedom oasis in the northeast and would be able to draw back some of the population that left.

Sound too good to be true? A wonky pipedream? Maybe. However, it all is theoretically possible. It comes down to how badly would we want it. Yes, this is a real bill and it has been floating around waiting to get some steam for a while now. Not to be negative Nancy but there needs to be a contingency plan. If Zeldin loses but you still are not ready to lay down, join me in this quest to split the state. I am the administrator and creator of the “Movement for Long Island Statehood” which was born in 2019 and also in 2020 I was welcomed in as Long Island regional leader for the ‘’Divide NYS” caucus which has already been in operation for several years, both groups can be found on Facebook. If Zeldin loses, and we sure pray that doesn’t happen, those still here must, unfortunately, roll our sleeves up and get ready for Plan “S”. Separation.

To learn more about ‘’Divide NYS’’, visit https://www.divideny.org/. Divide NYS will also be having its annual conference this Saturday, September 10th in Batavia, New York. A regional Long Island meeting will be taking place in the coming months, date to be determined.
