Like a crackhead in your pocket for a 20 spot, Volodymyr Zelensky wasted no time hitting up Speaker McCarthy within minutes of being elected Speaker Of The House.

Immediately after Kevin McCarthy became Speaker Of The House following 15 grueling rounds of ballot votes, Zelensky was straight on the newly appointed Speaker for money in typical grifter fashion.

“We’re counting on your continued support and further U.S. assistance to bring our common victory closer,” Zelensky posted on Twitter tagging the GOP Leader.

McCarthy has repeatedly defended his position against sending “blank checks” to help Ukraine defeat Russia and insisted that there should be greater scrutiny over the congressional aid—a pledge he vows to see through when Republicans take the House in January, according to a Newsweek article published in December 2022.

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) who led the coalition against McCarthy for Speaker Of The House and appears to have a great deal of influence over the California Rep. has repeatedly criticized U.S. support of Ukraine as he argued against sending financial and military aid packages. In May, he was among the 57 House Republicans who voted against a $40 billion aid package, arguing that the federal government should prioritize domestic issues.

He also warned in May of a “dangerous bipartisan consensus that is walking us into war with Russia.” He also called on Congress to vote on an Authorization for Use of Military Force resolution to reveal which members would go on record about their support for whether the U.S. should be involved in the Russian war in Ukraine.

It’ll be interesting to see how Speaker McCarthy responds to Zelensky’s constant begging for money especially when the majority of Republican voters are against sending Ukraine a single penny after the $1.7 omnibus package was recently approved with $45 billion attached for Ukraine.
