POLL: Andrew Giuliani Pulls Slightly Ahead Of Lee Zeldin In NY State GOP Primary For Governor

Published on

Former White House aid Andrew Giuliani holds a narrow lead over Republican front-runner candidate Rep. Lee Zeldin ahead of the June 28 gubernatorial primary, according to a new poll of primary voters.

According to a survey conducted by longtime pollster John Zogby, Giuliani had the support of 28.1% of likely Republican voters compared to 22.8% for Zeldin.

Former Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino came in third with 13.7% and businessman Harry Wilson rallied the support of 10.3% of respondents.

Skeptics, however, are critical of the poll and do not believe it truly reflects the current state of the race. GOP state Chair Nick Langworthy, who is supporting Rep. Lee Zeldin, told the NY Post “I don’t believe that this poll is reflective of the current state of the race based on data that I see on a weekly basis.”

Although Andrew Giuliani himself seems to be taking the poll seriously as he continues to boast his lead on social media, others are not.

“This is a fake, wildly inaccurate poll … every other recent poll has shown Congressman Zeldin as the clear frontrunner,” Zeldin spokeswoman Katie Vincentz said in a text.
