Ask any Republican politician what they’re ACTUALLY doing about the fraud that occurred during the last Presidential election, and they’re sure to all give you the same answer, which is most likely no answer at all. They are quick to evade the topic, and if they absolutely must address it, they give you a weak roundabout “nothing-burger solution” that basically ends with “we just got to get out there and vote”. For 50 million Republicans, that’s simply not good enough.
It’s no secret that the 2020 election was riddled with discrepancies, everything from mail-in ballots that went missing to testimonies of duplicate votes. With over 12,000 affidavits from witnesses that had concrete evidence that the election was tampered with, there is no question that fraud occurred. Even CNN changed their tune multiple times from “no fraud” to “no widespread fraud” to finally settling at “widespread fraud, but not enough to change the outcome of the election”. Unfortunately we’ll never know seeing that local judges refused to hear the arguments presented and even SCOTUS, who failed miserably at remaining nuertral on the situation, wanted nothing to do with it. It’s no wonder Statewide audits never stood a chance.
Now whether you believe fraud occurred or not, one thing is for certain, Republicans will not win another election again they don’t come together and fight as a team. If there is anything we can learn from the Democrats, it’s that they stick together. They vote together, protest together, and heck, they even riot together. They might not agree with each other, but they sing from the same hymm book and under no circumstance do they stray from the proverbial Pelosi tree.
Republicans on the other hand are a disaster lately when it comes to navigating their way through the trecherous waters of an election, and it certainly doesn’t help when members of our own party launch a “Trump Lost” campaign for the entire world to see. Not only is it a slap in the face to the 50 million who believe we have a real serious election integrity issue that needs to be dealt with, but it also goes to show just how disconnected from reality half the Republican Party is.
Republicans for Voting Rights, an organization operating under Defending Democracy Together, has launched a quarter-million-dollar campaign to erect dozens of these billboards in major markets across the country, including one digital billboard right in the heart of Times Square.
On Twitter, the Republican Accountability Project — a sister organization of Republicans for Voting Rights (RVR) — confirmed the Times Square billboard was up as of Wednesday. A representative for the group said “dozens” of similar digital billboards were already running as of Thursday. More traditional static billboards, too, are scheduled to follow.
It’s not quite clear what their intentions are, but if 50 million Republicans believe our elections are compromised, the RVR could put up a million billboards and it’s still not going to change the minds of those who are rightly convinced the election was stolen. Not to mention, who does the Republican Accountability Project think they are to tell the rest of us that the election wasn’t stolen and to get over it. If anything, they’re making absolute fools out of themselves and splitting the already fractured GOP even further.
Many of the billboards are, or will soon be, situated in states “where there’s discussion about an audit of the 2020 election,” according to the Republican Accountability Project (RAP) website. Such billboards are going up in Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia and Wisconsin, per the RVR.
“The 2020 election was secure and fair,” said RVR Director Amanda Carpenter in a statement shared with Nexstar. “These sham audits are a waste of time and money.”
Not only does the “Trump Lost” campaign reek of Liz Cheney and Mitch McConnell, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Republicans from Democrat controlled states were behind the scenes on this one seeing that most of them pander to the Left while claiming to be patriots.
One thing’s for sure though, simply telling “Trumpers” to get over it and move on is only going to upset them even more. Not to mention, if we don’t cut this nonsense out, it’s not going to matter who believes what because campaigns like this will only continue to divide the party, which pretty much guarantees that we will never win another election again.
