Boohoo, cry me a freaking river! The second these triggered libs don’t get their way, they start throwing their toys out the window… and it’s beautiful to watch, to be honest. Well, welcome to our world folks! We’ve had to put up with your political B.S. for YEARS, and now it’s your turn.
Shaun King, a Black Lives Matter activist, claimed he had logged off the site for good ā only to log on again early Tuesday to spar with Donald Trump Jr. ā after tweeting that Muskās takeover bid was about āwhite power.ā Um, really bro? I’m not quite sure Shaun realizes that Elon is actually an African American himself.
āAt its root, Elon Musk wanting to purchase Twitter is not about left vs right. Itās about white power,ā King tweeted before Twitterās board accepted Muskās $44 billion takeover bid.
āThe man was raised in Apartheid by a white nationalist. Heās upset that Twitter wonāt allow white nationalists to target/harass people. Thatās his definition of free speech.ā
āSo for me, this isnāt about left vs right. Not at all. Itās about how the richest man in the world, a son of Apartheid, raised by a white nationalist, wants to be sure his speech, and that of other white men isnāt censored.ā
But Shaun isn’t the only triggered lib to have a tenter tantrum. Quite a few progressives with large followings deleted their accounts as well in protest of the anticipated change in ownership.
Erik Larsen, the comic book creator whose credits include āThe Amazing Spider-Man,ā deleted his account after vowing to do so if Musk bought Twitter.
āThe day Elon Musk buys Twitter is the day I delete my account and leave Twitter,ā Larsen tweeted on April 14.
Jameela Jamil, the actress and activist, announced that sheās leaving Twitter after the platform accepted Elon Muskās $44 billion offer to buy the company.
āAh he got Twitter,ā Jamil tweeted alongside four images of herself with her dog. āI would like this to be my what lies here as my last tweet. Just really any excuse to show pics of Barold.ā
Rob Reiner, the actor, and director said he feared Musk buying Twitter would lead to the reinstatement of ācriminalā Donald Trump, the former president who was banned from the site after the events at the US Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.
āNow that Elon Musk is buying Twitter, the question for all of us is: Will he allow a Criminal who used this platform to lie and spread disinformation to try to overthrow the US Government to return and continue his Criminal activity? And if he does, how do we combat it?ā Reiner tweeted.
Howard Dean, the former Vermont governor, and Democratic presidential candidate, tweeted: āHi Twitterverse. Many thanks for the knowledge and sharing over the past ten years or so.ā
He added: āIf Musk takes over Twitter I will be off within a few hours. Might be just as well for my well being but Iāve learned a lot of valuable stuff from many of you. Thank you all. Howard.ā
Muskās imminent purchase of Twitter raised fears among prominent liberals that he would soften the siteās content moderation policies, allowing controversial figures to express unpopular views. We’re unable to show his tweet here in this article because he deleted his account since.
And of course Senator Warren who seems to think the deal is “too dangerous for Democracy”.
This deal is dangerous for our democracy. Billionaires like Elon Musk play by a different set of rules than everyone else, accumulating power for their own gain. We need a wealth tax and strong rules to hold Big Tech accountable.
