In a private phone call Tuesday with State Governors, the White House said states should prepare to begin vaccinating elementary-school-aged kids against COVID-19 in early November.

An audio recording of the call was obtained by ABC News, which confirmed that White House officials told the governors that they had enough pediatric doses on hand for 28 million children ages 5 through 11 and expected for the doses to become eligible once federal regulators give the green light.

It is not clear whether the federal government will try and mandate the pediatric vaccine in schools across the United States, but several Democrat states have already made it known that they are leaning towards requiring students to get the covid-19 vaccine as soon as doses are made available. If we had to put our money on what states would lead the charge on welcoming the vaccine for children with open arms, we’d bet the farm that New York and California will be the first to inject their students.

There are 16 states however that will fight Biden and the White House on all covid-19 vaccine mandates including New Hampshire, Montana, Utah, South Dakota, Indiana, Ohio, Arizona, Arkansas, Tennesse, Oklahoma, Texas, Alabama, Georgia, and Florida. Idaho and South Carolina bans only apply to colleges and universities.

As reported by Politico: On Oct. 26, the Food and Drug Administration’s independent vaccine advisory committee panel will discuss Pfizer’s request to the FDA to authorize its Covid-19 shot for 5- to 11-year old children.

Whether parents welcome the vaccine or not for their kids is an entirely different situation and one that will be heavily dependent upon the data being released in the coming weeks once clinical trials are concluded. 4,500 elementary school-aged children have volunteered in Pfizer’s study, but exact details on the effectiveness of the vaccines have not been publicly released.

According to a September poll, the Kaiser Family Foundation found that about 33% of parents with kids ages 5-11 were willing to vaccinate their kids right away, while another 33% wanted to “wait and see.”

The rush to vaccinate the children by the Biden Administration is astonishing seeing that children are still considered significantly less likely than adults to experience bad outcomes from COVID-19. According to an estimate by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Children’s Hospital Association, less than 2% of all child COVID-19 cases resulted in hospitalization.
