JUST IN: Police Respond To Sen. Ted Cruz’s Houston Home Due To ‘Self-Inflicted Cutting’ Call

TEXAS – Police in Houston were on the scene at the home of Sen. Ted Cruz (R) on Tuesday night after a reported stabbing or cutting incident, reports say.

According to KTRK, ‘officers responded to reports of a 14-year-old with self-inflicted stab wounds on the arms at 7:44 p.m. on Ella Lee Lane.’

The identity of the teenager was not known. Although, speculation grew that it could be Cruz’s daughter, Caroline Cruz, who is 14.

A spokesman for Cruz confirmed to KTRK the incident involved a ‘family matter,’ but said Caroline is ‘OK and there were no serious injuries.’ The teen was taken to the hospital, according to ABC13.

ABC13 reached out to Sen. Cruz’s office for comment. Representatives said the police activity involved a family matter. Regarding a question about one of the senator’s daughters, they said that she was OK and there were no serious injuries.
