As we’re heading towards the Christmas Season, and the promise of a new and better New Year, the majority party in Congress, and their collaborators in the mainstream media are pushing the coverage of the kangaroo court proceedings about the “insurrection” of January 6, 2021.  In addition to fanning the flames of hysteria regarding vaccine and mask mandates in response to the never ending COVID “crisis”, as well as pushing critical race theory dogma into the classrooms of America. In my opinion, these displays of farcical showboating by Democrat Representatives, and a small number of RINOS as well, is a classic diversionary tactic used quite often in political circles.  Quite frankly, when they have no substance, all they have left in their political tool box is diversion.  When we take a closer look at the state of affairs in our great Nation, we should all be very concerned.

What has escaped a lot of mainstream media attention is the rise of fentanyl deaths in the United States.  On September 15th of this year, Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa, called out the White House Administration for facilitating this crisis.  In a prepared statement on the Senate Floor, Senator Grassley directly linked the influx of illicit drugs from our porous Southern Border to the Biden Administration’s deliberate refusal to secure the Southern border.

“Our border security rests exclusively with the federal government… a grave, unprecedented crisis exists at the southern border… These horrific, unabated events make clear that the cartels effectively control our southern border…”

Senator Grassley further stated that the dereliction of duty exhibited by Biden’s Homeland Security is unacceptable and dangerous.  Besides the throngs of illegal immigrants swarming the border with the apparent permission from the current Administration, and the influx of Mexican Cartel human trafficking,  the import of highly addictive illegal drugs from the Cartels have hit record highs.

Fentanyl is a  highly addictive synthetic opiate, which is fifty times more potent than heroin.  Senator Grassley stated that the Cartels are producing the deadly drug and smuggling it into the United States. They are even adding fentanyl to other drugs for increased potency and profits, often without users knowing it, which is purely evil.

“The average amount of fentanyl seized from 2018 through 2020 was 321 pounds a month. Through the first nine months of this year, the monthly average is 830 pounds. In fiscal year 2021, U.S. Customs and Border Protection seized 10,586 pounds of fentanyl at the southern border, more than double the amount seized in FY 2020.”

According to statements made by the Drug Enforcement Administration, “Mexican cartels are increasingly responsible for producing and supplying fentanyl to the U.S. market.”

The DEA has also reported that the Mexican Cartels get chemical ingredients, primarily from China, to produce this poison in Mexico to then ship it into our communities.

On December 17, 2021, the DEA reported that throughout 2021, from January to date, they have seized roughly twenty million fentanyl pills from busts at the Southern border.  Roughly speaking, this amount of drugs would be more than enough to cause an overdose death in every single American citizen.

Sadly, the Biden Administration and their cronies in the media have largely ignored or misconstrued the facts of this very real crisis.  Although I do give limited credit to NBC, (the only media outlet found which reported the statistics fairly), they obfuscated the issues for political expediency.

“In the hotly politicized debate over immigration, it shows the complexity of any search for solutions… The numbers were already rising during the last few months of the Trump administration.”

Even small time “media” outlets such as factcheck.org are getting their shots in.

“Some Republicans have misleadingly suggested that the amount of drugs seized is a negative development attributable to the immigration policies of President Joe Biden.”

It is very sad that outlets such as the poorly named factcheck.org, as well as other outlets, would rather give cover to a failing Administration than report on the actual crisis at our Southern border.

The Southern border crisis is creating opportunities for Cartels and other criminal organizations to increase the flow of illicit drugs into the United States.  In my opinion, bolstered by data produced by the DEA and by Republican Lawmakers, the border crisis is a major cause of the drug epidemic across the country which has torn American families apart.  This crisis is absolutely preventable with the application of common sense governance.  It is time for the Biden administration to take the crisis very seriously instead of inviting disaster to our Country.
