BACK TO WORK! Biden Discreetly Begins Work On The Wall, Quietly Fills In Gaps

Published on

Looks like even the Biden administration has had enough of the rampant illegal border crossings that have plagued the southern border since Joe Biden took office. Whether it was Governor Abbott bussing migrants to D.C. to prove his point or Mayor Bowser putting her foot down and activating the national guard, someone or something has spooked the Democrats into commencing border construction on the wall once again.

President Biden has resumed construction of former President Trump’s Border Wall, this time work is being finished along a portion near Yuma, Arizona.

Fox News reports that the work will fill in four major gaps in the wall that have been heavily exploited by illegal immigrants in the Yuma area, home to some of the busiest corridors for border crossers.

The Biden administration said Thursday it had authorized US Customs and Border Protection to close gaps in a border wall in Arizona near the Morelos Dam in order to protect migrants from drowning and sustaining injuries while trying to cross the Colorado River into the United States.

The Yuma Morelos Dam Project will close four gaps located within an “incomplete border barrier project” near the dam, the Department of Homeland Security said in a news release. In addition to posing “safety and life hazard risks for migrants,” the department said the gaps in the wall presented “life and safety” risks to first responders in the area.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas signed off on the construction and the work will fall under his Homeland Security’s 2021 budget.

This isn’t the first time that Biden has discreetly completed sections of the border wall before.

According to The Post Millenial, on July 5 it was reported that Biden would complete construction on a section of Trump’s border wall that separates San Diego, California from Tijuana, Mexico. That construction, which would effectively close Friendship Park on the American side, was also approved by Mayorkas and fell under Homeland Security’s providence.

In May 2021 Biden completed a 13.4-mile stretch of the wall in the Rio Grande Valley, although he categorized that construction as simple maintenance to replace existing walls.

When Biden first took office he signed an executive order canceling all construction of the border wall. The Government Accountability Office launched a review to determine if Biden broke the law by freezing the money that was set to go to companies tasked with completing the wall.

$2 billion in funds originally set aside for wall construction was redistributed elsewhere and, by April, border wall construction material sat idle as migrants penetrated the gaps.

Democratic Sen. Mark Kelly of Arizona, who is facing a tough reelection this fall, praised the decision to close the wall gaps. He said in a statement that he first pressed the President to approve the gap closures in December and has had “numerous calls” with the White House and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
