In 2013 Ted Cruz Introduced Legislation To Protect Our Schools, Dems Shot It Down

Published on

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) has had enough of playing politics and went on Fox News’ Jesse Watters to discuss the tragedy in Uvalde, Texas, and how it could have been prevented if the Democrats were willing to have a real conversation instead of “posturing” like Beto O’Rourke did when he crashed Governor Abbott’s press conference Wednesday afternoon.

Cruz reminded Jesse, “In 2013 I introduced legislation that would spend $300 million on federal grants to harden schools to make them safer, to make them more protected… the Democrats filibustered that legislation”.

Cruz shared the clip of his appearance on Twitter, saying “Enough is enough. We need to act by hardening school security and hiring armed police officers to keep our kids safe.”

The Texas Senator also promised to keep fighting felons who try to obtain firearms “we need to stop the bad guys,” Cruz told Watters.

He also told Jesse about a vote that he tried to get passed that would have gone after “the bad guys” instead of law-abiding citizens. The Democrats filibustered that bill as well.
