We are mostly familiar with a quote from former First Secretary of the Communist Party, Nikita Khrushchev, that was allegedly said in a speech made on November 18, 1956 to US and Western Ambassadors at the Polish Embassy in Moscow. The quote that has been repeated throughout history is,
“We will take America without firing a shot”.
This infamous quote implies that Communism will gradually overthrow Capitalism. This leads to interesting theories as to how this can be accomplished. The only logical answer is indoctrination.
The most interesting fact about this quote is that Khrushchev never uttered these words. He did, however, threaten the US and Western Powers by stating that they will bury us, and that Communism will outlast Capitalism on the world stage. The American response, best stated by Los Angeles, California Mayor Norris Poulson in 1959.
“We do not agree with your widely quoted phrase, ‘We shall bury you’. You shall not bury us and we shall not bury you. We are happy with our way of life. We recognize its shortcomings and are always trying to improve it. But if challenged, we shall fight to the death to preserve it.”
I prefer to remember Mayor Poulson’s accurate quote, rather than the false quote accredited to Nikita Khrushchev. However, the false quote has gained more traction in the American psyche. As to include the American Leftist politician. As most of us would take this false quote as a warning, the American Left has appeared to take it as an opportunity.
Upon taking up the role as President of the United States, Barack Obama wasted no time in reconfiguring the mission of Homeland Security. The focus was on “domestic terrorists” who fall into the broad category of “right wing extremism”. The category was further sub-divided that included every American Veteran from the Vietnam era to the present, pro-life proponents, and advocates of border security.
“According to the DHS Assessment Report… ‘Rightwing extremism in the United States can be broadly divided into those groups, movements, and adherents that are primarily hate-oriented (based on hatred of particular religious, racial or ethnic groups), and those that are mainly antigovernment, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or rejecting government authority entirely. It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration’… This is exactly how Obama’s DHS now defines “extreme rightwing radical domestic terrorist,” and this is officially the primary concern of Obama’s DHS. They are far less concerned with Al Qaeda, open borders, terror and drug trafficking, Iranian or North Korean nukes. It is the average American that they fear most!”
Sadly, this is all too familiar. In the former Soviet Union, the use of a national secret police was in use to keep political “undesirables” from being influential in political discourse. No matter what name they went by throughout history, (the Cheka, the NKVD, or the KGB), they were always thugs enforcing the tyranny of their political masters and silencing any opposition.
China has also taken up Soviet style oppression since they embraced Communism in 1949. Their Secret Police, inappropriately named the CCP Central Investigation Department, has been responsible for imprisoning thousands if not hundreds of thousands of “enemies of the State”.
Since the Obama years, we have learned how U.S. Federal Agencies have become weaponized, taking lessons from their Communist counterparts, past and present. The expansion of the powers of the Patriot Act, authorized by Barack Obama, targeted “right wing extremist” e-mails, websites, social media, etc. We’ve also had the FBI, DOH and DOJ fabricate lie after lie about “Russian Collusion”, the largely political arrests of political commentator/author/film maker, Dinesh D’Souza, and President Trump’s National Security Advisor, General Michael Flynn, just to name two of many. Sadly, these low tactics are still being used today by the Federal Government.
As reported by our very own Wayne Richardson on December 3, 2021, the Biden Department of Justice, as directed by AG Merrick Garland, were to treat parents who verbally disagree with the teachings of Critical Race Theory as domestic terrorists.
” On Oct 21, 2021 the AG mislead the House Judicial committee, according to Rep Jim Jordan. Thanks to a whistle blower in the DOJ, the timeline of events and historic track record, his thinking that the DOJ is being used to control parents interfering with the administration’s plans to teach CRT in schools is a reasonable conclusion.”
To add insult to injury, the DOJ has recently doubled-down with the creation of a special task force to target “domestic terrorists”.
“The Justice Department is establishing a specialized unit focused on domestic terrorism, the department’s top national security official told lawmakers Tuesday as he described an ‘elevated’ threat from violent extremists in the United States.
Assistant Attorney General Matthew Olsen, testifying just days after the nation observed the one-year anniversary of the violent insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, said the number of FBI investigations into suspected domestic violent extremists has more than doubled since the spring of 2020.
‘We have seen a growing threat from those who are motivated by racial animus, as well as those who ascribe to extremist anti-government and anti-authority ideologies,’ Olsen said.
The department’s National Security Division has a counterterrorism section. But Olsen told the Senate that he has decided to create a specialized domestic terrorism unit “to augment our existing approach.”
As stated earlier, the “domestic terrorists” that can potentially be targeted by the DOJ’s newest brute squad are Us. Average American Citizens who deserve a say in which way our Nation is going. We are and always shall be a Nation of Law. Thankfully, I am not alone in this assertion. As of today, Joe Biden’s approval ratings are at a dismal 33%, Kamala Harris is at 34%, and Congress’s approval rating on the whole is at 20%, (and I still think the percentages are artificially inflated). I am proud to be in the majority of those Citizens who disapprove of their dismal performance and who openly question their draconian practices.
The one defense we have against an authoritarian Federal Government that has run amok is the dissemination of vital information. We, as Citizens, are guaranteed the Right of Free Speech, no matter what slanderous or libelous label Federal autocrats want to place on us. The Left has taken their lessons from a false quote that was never uttered by Nikita Khrushchev. We take a more positive lesson from the true statements made by former Los Angeles Mayor Poulson, which exemplifies our American Values, our American Spirit and our American Exceptionalism.
Addendum:
As a side note, while writing of this article, the Supreme Court ruled that OSHA lacked the authority to impose the Biden Vaccine Mandate because the law that created OSHA “empowers the Secretary to set workplace safety standards, not broad public health measures.” However, even though the broader vaccine mandate has been effectively blocked by the Supreme Court, the Justices allowed a vaccination requirement for health care workers at facilities that receive federal money. A somewhat mixed Decision. The vote went six Justices against the mandate, three for the mandate. At least for the foreseeable future, our Third Branch of Government is more or less on the right track.
