Orland Park (Chicago) Republican Mayor Keith Pekau, warns of the disasters ahead from Illinois House Bill 3653 (Criminal Justice Reform) which goes into effect January 1, 2023.
According to the Mayor, police officers will no longer be able to remove trespassers from your residence or your business, and it is now entirely up to you to decide what level of force is required to remove them.
“Officers will no longer be able to remove trespassers from your residences or your businesses. Someone can decide to live in your shed and all we can do is give them a ticket. You have to decide what level of force is required to remove them and whether or not it’s legal,” Pekau said during a press conference.
WATCH:
Pekau also said that as of January 1, 2023, the following things will go into effect – “it abolishes cash bail for almost every offense including kidnapping, armed robbery, second-degree murder, drug-induced homicide, aggravated DUI, threatening a public official, and aggravated fleeing and alluding.
The Orland Park called the House Bill a “massive threat to the residence of Orland Park, Cook County, and Illinois.”
Democrat states across the country are seriously concerned similar bills may be headed to their state especially those who live in progressive states like California and New York.
