Apparently, NYC is now giving advice on how to use heroin responsibly while visiting the Big Apple. Instead of tackling their drug problem, they’ve decided to follow San Fransico’s lead and embrace it.
In a series of city-sponsored posters that have been displayed on subway cars, local health agencies are now advising drug addicts on the best practices for using heroin.
The advertisement reads, “Don’t be ashamed you are using, be empowered that you are using wisely!”
Tips on how to use heroin responsibly while visiting NYC include:
- Avoid using alone, and take turns
- Start with a small dose and go slowly
- Have naloxone on hand
- Avoid Mixing Drugs
- Test your drugs using fentanyl test strips

But not everyone is on board with NYC telling its residents that “heroin is empowering”. NYC Council Member Joe Borelli slammed the NYC Health Commission for “normalizing injecting deadly life-changing drugs” in a tweet he posted Thursday.
This is a disgrace. So many families have been broken because of drug addiction and here's the city not only saying that it's OK, but it also offers tips on how to "safely" do it. What happened to " work hard, take your vitamins and be good to other people"??
