It seems that Gisele Bündchen, 42, isn’t handling Tom Brady’s return to the NFL all that well as he begins his second career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after “un-retiring”, leaving skeptics to wonder if the all-star couple is having marital issues.
According to Page Six, the 42-year-old supermodel got emotional while talking on the phone and walking along Hudson River Park near the Tribeca apartment she shares with the football pro on Wednesday.
Bündchen has been in NYC this week, while 7-time Superbowl champion Brady, 45, remains in Florida following “epic rows” over his shocking decision to un-retire from the NFL.
Page Six reported that a witness said, “Gisele was walking on her own on the West Side, crying into her mobile phone.”
A separate source speculated Bündchen may have been on the phone with Brady, who was at the Buccaneers training camp in Tampa at the time.
Meanwhile, a third source added the former Victoria’s Secret Angel was also upset over the coverage of her Elle magazine interview, which was released on Tuesday, in the press.
The source said, “Gisele wanted the story to be about her career and her environmental work. But all the focus from the media was on her quotes about Tom.”
Gisele, after years of supporting Tom Brady throughout his football career, is suddenly worried that the all-time wins quarterback is going to get hurt on the field.
“This is a very violent sport, and I have my children and I would like him to be more present,” she told Elle magazine.
Bündchen, who has three children with the athlete, noted that she has “definitely had those conversations with him over and over again.”
The real reason for the supermodel meltdown appears to be over the fact that Gisele is jealous that she put her career on hold for Tom Brady, but he has not yet done the same for her.
“I’ve done my part, which is [to] be there for [Brady]. I moved to Boston, and I focused on creating a cocoon and a loving environment for my children to grow up in and to be there supporting him and his dreams.”
The former Victoria’s Secret Angel did admit, however, that she’s ready to pursue her own hopes and dreams again, suggesting that it’s now Tom’s turn to play Mr. Mom. Brady, obviously, has other plans.
“I have a huge list of things that I have to do, that I want to do. At 42, I feel more connected with my purpose,” she said, adding, “and now it’s going to be my turn.”
A source told Page Six that Bündchen, while crying over the fact that she gets no free time, was, however, fortunate it enough to be able to do the interview with Elle Magazine over zoom while in the Bahamas with Brady and their family. Supposedly the vacation was a “make-or-break vacation” that Brady took 11 days off of training camp to go on.
Page Six claims NFL fans are divided over whether Brady is an unstoppable legend or a “selfish jerk” for not retiring to spend more time with Gisele and the kids. An 8th Super Bowl ring, however, will most likely change the haters’ minds.
