YOU JUST CAN’T WIN: Walmart Pulling Juneteenth Ice Cream After Social Media Backlash

Published on

Walmart has decided to call it quits and recall its ice cream commemorating Juneteenth after it received fierce backlash on social media. Critics called out the company for using the holiday as a money-making marketing scheme.

“Share and celebrate African-American culture, emancipation, and enduring hope,” the packaging on the swirled red velvet and cheesecake flavored ice cream reads.

“Juneteenth holiday marks a celebration of freedom and independence,” Walmart said in a statement to The Hill. “However, we received feedback that a few items caused concern for some of our customers and we sincerely apologize. We are reviewing our assortment and will remove items as appropriate.”

You know, you just can’t win with the woke mob, can you? They threaten you if you don’t bow to cancel culture, but when you do, you better not make money from it! It’s a lose-lose that most corporations are sick of catering to.

In just the last month we’ve seen both Exxon Mobile and Coca-Cola stand up to cancel culture. Exxon Mobile decided it wanted nothing to do with Gay Pride Month in June and instructed its employees not to fly LGBTQ+ flags outside of their buildings.

Coca-cola also just announced on Monday that they will not be getting involved in the Georgia election debate ahead of the Georgia Primary.

In light of the upcoming Georgia primary elections on Tuesday, Coca-Cola has decided to break with other “woke corporations” telling the Washington Examiner the best way to make “progress” as a nation is to “come together.”

Hopefully, Walmart has learned its lesson and will join Coca-cola and Exxon Mobile in focusing on running their own business rather than letting the woke mob run it for them.

Users on social media are instead directing Walmart customers to buy Creamalicious ice cream, a Black-owned brand on sale in stores that feature a red velvet cheesecake flavor. See, now that wasn’t so hard now was it? And you didn’t even have to threaten anyone.
