Here’s Who Donald Trump Has Endorsed in Next Week’s Upcoming Primary Elections

Published on

Love him or hate him, Donald Trump is on fire this year with an impeccable primary endorsement record, and there’s no doubt his endorsements continue to be worth gold to GOP candidates.

To date, Trump has only lost 3 endorsements across 10 states. Gubernatorial candidate Charles Herbster of Nebraska, Gubernatorial candidate Janice McGeachin of Nebraska, and Rep. Madison Cawthorn of Nebraska. Senate candidate Oz Mehmet of Pennsylvania is deadlocked and will most likely head to a recount. 4 Trump-backed candidates head to runoffs.

Next up in the Primary Elections to be held on May 24 are Alabama, Arkansas, and Georgia.

Here’s who the former president has endorsed in the Republican primary elections being held on May 24:

Alabama

Candidates Katie Boyd Britt and Mike Durant have won Trump’s endorsement, but he has yet to back another candidate in the Alabama race.

Arkansas

Trump has endorsed his former press secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, saying she would do “a fantastic job” as Arkansas’ next governor.

He has also backed the re-election bids of Sen. John Boozman and Rep. Rick Crawford, and endorsed Arkansas’ lieutenant governor Tim Griffin for attorney general.

Georgia

Trump is backing former Sen. David Perdue, who he recruited to enter Georgia’s gubernatorial race in a bid to oust Gov. Brian Kemp.

In the race for Secretary of State, Trump has backed Rep. Jody Hice, who is challenging Republican incumbent Brad Raffensperger.

Kemp and Raffensperger both drew the former president’s ire for failing to go along with his efforts to overturn the state’s 2020 election result.

At the House level, Trump has endorsed Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Andrew Clyde. He has also backed Vernon Jones in the crowded Republican primary to fill the seat being vacated by Hice in the state’s 10th congressional district, and Jake Evans in the state’s 6th congressional district.

Trump has also endorsed former NFL star Herschel Walker who is seeking to unseat Raphael Warnock in the U.S Senate.

Texas

Trump has backed Ken Paxton in his bid for a third term as Texas attorney general. Paxton, who has been under the cloud of an FBI investigation into claims he abused his office to benefit a wealthy donor and is also awaiting trial on state securities fraud charges, faces a run-off election against Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush on May 24 after failing to reach the 50 percent threshold in a primary contest earlier this year.
