Bernie Sanders Wants Your Guns, ‘No One Needs An AR-15 Or Any Other Assault Weapon’

Published on

Bernie’s back on the scene with his good old fashion anti-constitutional rhetoric. It was only a matter of time before the Socialist Senator from Vermont (D) voiced his demands on Twitter.

It shouldn’t matter what age you are. No one needs an AR-15 or any other assault weapon designed to massacre people. When we had an assault weapons ban from 1994-2004, mass shootings went down 43%. After it expired, mass shootings tripled. End the filibuster. Ban assault weapons, Sanders tweeted to his followers on Friday.

What Bernie failed to mention, however, in his Twitter rant was the fact that mass casualty events in the United States only constitute less than 1 percent of all gun deaths according to Gun Violence Archive. Patriot One News recently fact-checked an article written by NPR that falsely reported to its readers that there have been 27 mass school shootings this year when in fact there have only been 13 since 1966.

Bernie was also quick to slam the very filibuster that Democrats have fiercely defended in the past. It seems the defense mechanism is only useful to the Democrats when they get their way.

Patriot One News reported on Thursday that GOP Senators blocked a “Domestic Terrorism Bill” that would have opened the debate for stricter gun laws. The final vote was 47-47, short of the 60 needed to take up the bill. Senator Susan Collins of Maine was the only Republican to vote in favor.

Donald Trump, however, during Friday’s NRA event in Houston took a moment to defend the Second Amendment when he urged Americans to protect 2A.

“The existence of evil in our world is not a reason to disarm law-abiding citizens,” Trump said at the NRA convention. “The existence of evil is one of the very best reasons to arm law-abiding citizens.”
