Cory Booker Should Win An Oscar For His Overly Dramatic Testimony To Ketanji Brown Jackson

Published on

If Senator Cory Booker, D-N.J., fails to win re-election, at least he’ll have a job in Hollywood to fall back on. In what appeared to be an overly dramatic and cringe-worthy testimony on Wednesday, Booker used his time during the Ketanji Brown Jackson hearing to slam his Republican colleagues for daring to question her on why she gave several pedophiles less than minimum sentences throughout her career, before praising her, and even comparing Judge Jackson to his mom.

“I want to tell you when I look at you, this is why I get emotional,” Booker said. “I’m sorry, you’re a person that is so much more than your race and gender. You’re a Christian. You’re a mom. It’s hard for me not to look at you and not see my mom. I see my ancestors and yours.”

Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I., later called Booker’s speech an “epic Senate moment and also a moral reset after some truly poisonous, cynical behavior that trolled through the absolute bottom of what the Senate has done in dark times past.” If trying to get to the bottom of why Jackson continues to defend pedophiles is cynical behavior, then perhaps we should be questioning the entire Democrat Party on why they would nominate a judge with such a horrific sentencing record in the first place.

After Booker concluded his audition for Hollywood, he was approached by Republican Sen. John Kennedy of Louisiana, who complimented Booker on his performance and offered him a hug. Booker then moved on to Jackson’s parents, who he embraced for the cameras. Overall, it was a wonderful theatrical performance, but was it genuine? Sorry, I’m just not buying it.
