Democrats Abandon ‘Putin’s Price Hike’, Biden Has A New Scapegoat For High Gas Prices

Published on

Russia, Russia, Russia! Well, not anymore. Biden and the Democrats are no longer putting the gas price hike on Putin. Guess Americans wisened up to the fact that Russia has little to do with what’s going on in the U.S. But god forbid Joe accepts responsibility for his actions when it comes to skyrocketing inflation, rising gas prices, and pretty much every catastrophe he’s caused since moving into 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Nope, Biden needs a new scapegoat now, and it appears that he’s found one… for now.

Over the weekend, on Saturday, President Biden urged gas stations to lower prices at the pump as Americans are paying an average of $4.80 per gallon. The problem with Joe’s request is that gas station owners make as little as 15 cents per gallon profit at the pump, according to a recent article written by NBCNews.com.

Biden, however, is clueless about that fact as he is now blaming gas stations for skyrocketing prices at the pump. “My message to the companies running gas stations and setting prices at the pump is simple: this is a time of war and global peril,” the president tweeted. “Bring down the price you are charging at the pump to reflect the cost you’re paying for the product. And do it now.”

First of all Joe, we’re not “at war”, but we’ll get to that next.

By targeting individual gas stations, the Biden Administration appears to have given up on blaming Putin, however, the oil companies wasted no time setting the record straight on Twitter when they replied to the President’s request.

“Working on it Mr. President. In the meantime – have a Happy 4th and please make sure the WH intern who posted this tweet registers for Econ 101 for the fall semester…”

Just last month Biden attacked the oil companies for “price gouging” in an attempt to shift blame from the effects of his oil and gas policies by blasting the companies for profiteering off the high prices and threatening that his administration may use “emergency authorities to increase refinery capacity and output in the near term.”

ExxonMobil hit back stating the company said it has “invested more than any other company to develop U.S. oil and gas supplies” at a cost of more than $50 billion in the last five years. These investments have brought about a nearly 50 percent increase in the company’s U.S. production.

“Globally, we’ve invested double what we’ve earned over the past five years — $118 billion on new oil and gas supplies compared to net income of $55 billion,” the company said in a statement. “This is a reflection of the company’s long-term growth strategy, and our commitment to continuously invest to meet society’s demand for our products.”

It seems that ExxonMobile and gas stations are doing everything they can by keeping prices at the pump down despite Joe Biden’s reckless policies that are ultimately responsible for driving prices up.

Just like ‘Putin’s Price Hike’, Americans will quickly come to terms that Biden’s new scapegoat won’t hold much weight. It will be interesting to see who the Democrats blame next when this new excuse runs dry.
