DeSantis Signs New Law That Requires Students To Learn About Communism

Published on

Throughout the entire Covid-19 pandemic Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) warned Americans of the dangers of communism and the effects it could soon have on America if we don’t put a stop to Joe Biden’s communist regime. But we all know DeSantis doesn’t just talk… he takes action.

On Monday the America First Governor signed a bill to teach people about the horrors committed under Communist regimes, and the new law now requires students to learn about communism, establishing a state holiday called “Victims of Communism Day.”

“That body count of Mao is something that everybody needs to understand because it is a direct result of this communist ideology,” DeSantis said, noting millions of people died in China under his rule. “I know we don’t need legislation here to do this but I think it’s our responsibility to make sure people know about the atrocities committed by people like Fidel Castro and even more recently people like Nicolas Maduro.”

DeSantis shared the news on Twitter.

“Today, I established November 7th as Victims of Communism Day to honor those who have suffered under communism and remind people of the destruction communism has caused worldwide, including a death toll exceeding 100 million. In Florida, we will tell the truth about communism.”

Florida Lt. Gov. Jeannette Núñez (R) said at the news conference that the bill was in line with efforts to remove critical race theory teachings and other “woke terms” in the classroom. Critical race theory is an academic framework used at the graduate level that analyzes U.S. history and institutions through the lens of racism.

“Throughout this country, we are seeing communism and socialism being romanticized,” she said at a press conference. “Positive attitudes are at an all-time high in this country. But not here in Florida, because freedom, not Marxism, has a home here in the free state of Florida.”
