Kathy Barnette Says She Had A ‘Wonderful Time’ At Jan. 6 Rally, Faces Dr. Oz In Primaries

Published on

Underdog Republican candidate for Pennsylvania State Senate, Kathy Barnette, who is running against Trump-backed Dr. Oz in Tuesday’s PA Primary, has been under attack from every political angle imaginable including her own party, which doesn’t think she could win the General Election should she beat out Oz and McCormick. Yet, she’s still surging in the polls.

Just one day before the state’s 2022 primary, polling of likely GOP primary voters showed Barnette running a close second, with 24 percent support.

Her nearest opponents, celebrity surgeon Mehmet Oz and former hedge fund manager Dave McCormick, had 28 percent and 21 percent, respectively.

Oz has the endorsement of former President Trump, one of several Republicans who has warned that Barnette could struggle in a general election because of her past rhetoric.

But it’s not just the GOP who’s concerned with Barnette pulling a fast one over her competitors, the Democrats are also starting to get concerned that Barnette could be a real contender in the General election – and the smear campaigns have already begun.

In an attempt to derail Barnette’s political career before it even gets started, the Democrats are already labeling her as an “insurrectionist” due to her participation in the Jan. 6th Washington D.C. rally.

Unfortunately, for the Democrats, however, the political stunt seems to be backfiring on them as Kathy Barnette is embracing the claims and making it clear that she has nothing to hide.

Barnette said during a Monday interview on Fox News that she had a “wonderful time” in Washington on Jan. 6, 2021, the date of the Capitol riot.

Barnette was asked by Fox’s Bret Baier about images circulating of her marching near the Capitol on Jan. 6, which showed her near people connected to the Proud Boys, a far-right group involved in the attack.

Barnette said she was “not with the Proud Boys” but was “out there because I wanted to hear what the president had to say.”

“As a law-abiding American citizen, I had every right to go to a rally in support of my president. That is what I was doing there,” the conservative commentator asserted. “We had a wonderful time. We prayed. We listened to what the president had to say. We hung out.”

“We walked and sang songs, and then we got on our bus and left and came back home,” Barnette added.

When asked specifically about the photos of who she was marching with that day, Barnette said, “I have no idea who these people are that I was walking with,” adding, “The media is smearing my name and sowing seeds of disinformation in order to suppress my vote and steal this election from me.”

But are we surprised? This is the Democrat’s M.O., but if this is all they got on Barnette, then yes, they should be extremely worried if she finds her way as the Republican candidate in Pennsylvania’s general election.
