Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene hit the ground running as the new congress gets ready to be sworn in and is wasting no time in calling for the removal of key Democrats ahead of the GOP’s takeover of the House. One Democrat, in particular, Greene has set her sights on is House Intelligence Committee chair Adam Schiff (D-CA) in recent days.

Greene took to Twitter last week to press for his removal from his committees, accusing him of “lying to the American people and supporting BLM violent riots all over America…along w/ many of your colleagues.”

“I’m looking forward to watching @GOPLeader remove you from committees,” she added in a post containing a video clip of Schiff, who criticized likely incoming House Speaker and fellow Californian Kevin McCarthy’s vow to remove him as a “false equivalency.”

Schiff defended himself in an interview with California newsmagazine “The Issue Is,” arguing that he had not done anything to deserve being removed from his committees.

“I mean, the Republicans would say that Democrats kicked Marjorie Taylor Greene off of her committees, so why shouldn’t they be able to kick you off of your committees?” asked host Elex Michaelson.

“Well, this is the same false equivalence they often use, which is Marjorie Taylor Greene and Paul Gosar were removed from their committees because they were inciting violence against fellow members of Congress,” Schiff falsely claimed.

“The day I start to incite violence against people that I serve with or elsewhere, then fine, take me off my committee. You know, the moment I start engaging in insurrection, then fine, sanction me, but don’t give me this false equivalence, Mr. McCarthy, and suggest that somehow leading legitimate investigations of Donald Trump’s corruption with Russia, Ukraine, and January 6th is somehow legitimate basis to remove someone from a committee,” he added.
