Gov. Kathy Hochul on Wednesday lifted her mask-or-vaccine mandate for businesses effective Thursday but left it in place for schools at least until late February when the deadline for schools is set to expire.
According to the Daily Gazette, the masking requirement also remains in effect for state-regulated health facilities and elder-care facilities; jails and prisons; schools and childcare centers; homeless shelters; domestic violence shelters; and in buses, trains, and transportation facilities.
NY Parents are furious that the mandate for children in schools still hasn’t been lifted even though surrounding states including New Jersey and Connecticut have lifted the restriction. Parents plan to start suing school boards individually for constitutional overreach similar to what Loudon County just did at last night’s BOE meeting.
