OUCH! The Chicago Bears Even Hate Chicago, Lightfoot Begs NFL Team Not To Move To Suburbs

Chicago is in such bad shape that even the Chicago Bears, who opened Soldier Field in 1924, are calling it quits in light of the recent crime surge that Democrat Mayor Lori Lightfoot can’t seem to get a grip on.

The Bears have decided they’ve had enough and will be relocating to another location 30 miles away. On Monday, Lightfoot begged the NFL team to stay by proposing a $900 million to $2.2 billion Hail Mary offer as an incentive to not leave her crime-riddled city.

Needless to say, the Chicago Bears politely declined the Mayor’s offer. The Bears stated in a press release earlier this month that they wouldn’t consider any other offers, even for their home stadium, Soldier Field. The NFL reaffirmed that sentiment to ESPN this week, noting that they were set on moving, according to Daily Wire.

According to multiple crime statistic analyses, the Bears have decided to move to Arlington Park, an area that experiences far less crime and a poverty rate of less than 4%. The average median income is above $100,000 making it an attractive location for both safety and ticket sales potential.

Along with the Bear’s statement, Lightfoot also embarrassingly revealed to the Associated Press that the team refused to meet with her.

The Mayor refused to give up, however and is so desperate to keep the Bears in Chicago that she even launched a website “Re-Imagine Soldier Field” as part of a last-ditch attempt to save face and her city’s financial bottom line.

The Chicago Bears aren’t the only ones leaving The Windy City as several multibillion firms have left or planning on leaving in the very near future.

The Bears announced last September that they signed a Purchase and Sale Agreement (PSA) for Arlington Park, agreeing to just over $197 million for the move. Multiple major business owners reported that the rising crime rates, along with other social issues, prompted their desire to leave. The Bears didn’t elaborate at length on their decision to leave their longtime metropolis home base, though Arlington Park has abundant surrounding acreage for development according to Daily Wire.

The Bear’s current lease with Soldier Field ends in 2033.
