POLICE: Woman Shoots And Kills Gunman Who Shot At A Crowd Of People, Saving Countless Lives

The media does a great job at highlighting mass shootings where the victims lose, but notice how they never want to talk about when the victims win, especially when the victims draw their weapons first and shoot the perpetrators dead.

That’s exactly what happened late Wednesday night in Charleston, West Virginia just one day after the Robb Elementary School shooting in Uvalde, Texas.

Police said a woman who was lawfully carrying a pistol shot and killed a man who began shooting at a crowd of people Wednesday night in Charleston.

According to WCHTV.com, Dennis Butler was killed after allegedly shooting at dozens of people attending a graduation party Wednesday near the Vista View Apartment complex. No injuries were reported from those at the party.

Witnesses told the local police that prior to the shooting, Butler was warned about speeding in the area with children present before he left. He later returned with a firearm and began firing into the crowd before a bystander at the party quickly drew her weapon and fired at the shooter, fatally wounding him.

“Instead of running from the threat, she engaged with the threat and saved several lives last night,” Charleston Police Department Chief of Detectives Tony Hazelett said.

Officers did not go into detail but said Butler did have an extensive criminal history.

Hazelett said no charges will be filed against the woman.
