SF Mayor Blasted After Announcing Plan To End Homelessness, But Only For This One Group

Published on

You’d think trying to end homelessness in your city would be a good thing that residents in the community would applaud you for. But San Francisco Mayor London Breed is facing widespread criticism after announcing a plan to end homelessness for only one specific group of people.

The Democrat’s $6.5 million plan will supposedly end transgender homelessness by 2027.

“Transgender, nonbinary, and gender-nonconforming San Franciscans are 18 times more likely to experience homelessness compared to the general population, and we know that the rates are even higher for our minority trans communities,” stated Breed. “With one of the largest TGNC populations in the country, we not only must ensure that all San Franciscans have access to housing and essential resources through continued investments, but we can show the country that we continue to be a leader on supporting and protecting our trans communities.”

Out of the 7,754 homeless people in San Francisco, roughly 320 are transgender, according to a 2021 survey.

San Francisco residents are furious over the fact that the Mayor is only willing to help transgenders in an already divided country. Not to mention, the city has one of the worst drug addiction problems in the country that needs to be addressed.

Others can’t believe that Mayor Breed would only focus on a demographic that makes up only 4% of the overall homeless population.

The transgender-only policy certainly opens the debate up for fraud in the sense that anyone can now claim they are transgender just to get benefits.
