STEVE BANNON: ‘We’re 100% Right On The Law’, Plans To Appeal Contempt Conviction

Published on

Steve Bannon, a former President Trump advisor, told Tucker Carlson on Friday that he will appeal his recent contempt of Congress conviction.

“I think the law is with us in a number of situations,” Bannon said. “I think some of this is really going to be adjudicated — maybe even higher than the appellate courts. I’m feeling very confident that we’re 100% right on the law, but I’m going to fight this all the way.”

Bannon was recently found guilty of refusing to comply with a subpoena from the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol Riot.

According to Newsmax, Bannon told Fox New’s Tucker Carlson that federal judge Carl Nichols “took away every possible defense” he could have levied after he ruled against the former adviser’s executive privilege rights.

“We didn’t even put on a defense,” Bannon told Carlson. “We had an opening argument and a closing argument.”

Several politicians and congressional candidates have weighed in denouncing the J6 ‘DC Show” claiming that Bannon is innocent.

Loren Culp, who is running for Congress in Washington State’s District 4 posted that Bannon is “INNOCENT” and called to end the ‘DC show trials’.

Jack Posobiec, senior editor at Human Events called out the hypocrisy of the J6 trial and exposed the double standards between the Democrat and Republican parties.

“AOC, Ilhan Omar – these congresswomen get quote on quote arrested without even being handcuffed and nobody even cares. Why? It’s not hypocrisy, it’s hierarchy. Understand the difference,” Posobiec explained on The Post Millennial.

Camryn Kinsey, Political Analyst and former White House correspondent took to Twitter and voiced her frustrations with the “never ending witch hunt”.

Sentencing for Bannon is set for October, with both counts carrying a minimum penalty of 30 days in prison and a maximum of one year.
