Just when you didn’t think the Dems could stoop any lower, Texas Gubernatorial candidate Beto O’Rourke did the unthinkable.
In the middle of Governor Greg Abbott’s press conference, O’Rourke tried —and failed miserably —to score political points by crashing actual Governor Greg Abbott’s press conference on the Uvalde school shooting. Beto was quickly thrown out.
Governor Abbott spoke for roughly ten minutes before handing the microphone to Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, at which point O’Rourke approached the stage on national television and interrupted the conference.
O’Rourke attempted to make the conversation political instead of focusing on the lives lost. He was aggressively shouting out of line while those on stage told him to sit down.
“You are doing nothing,” O’Rourke said at one point.
Patrick said, “sir, you are out of line please leave this auditorium.”
Uvalde Mayor Don McLaughlin shouted at O’Rourke as well, calling him a “sick son of a bitch.”
O’Rourke was then escorted out of the auditorium.
