Former President Donald Trump plans to return to Washington, D.C., for the first time since leaving office in January 2021, according to Axios.

Trump is scheduled to headline a July 26 event for the America First Policy Institute (AFPI), Axios reported Thursday.

The former president is slated to deliver the keynote address at 3 p.m. ET on the second day of the AFPI’s two-day, invitation-only policy summit. The event will be streamed live and open to the press.

According to the AFPI website, “THE AMERICA FIRST POLICY INSTITUTE (AFPI) IS A 501(C)(3) NON-PROFIT, NON-PARTISAN RESEARCH INSTITUTE. AFPI EXISTS TO ADVANCE POLICIES THAT PUT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE FIRST. OUR GUIDING PRINCIPLES ARE LIBERTY, FREE ENTERPRISE, NATIONAL GREATNESS, AMERICAN MILITARY SUPERIORITY, FOREIGN-POLICY ENGAGEMENT IN THE AMERICAN INTEREST, AND THE PRIMACY OF AMERICAN WORKERS, FAMILIES, AND COMMUNITIES IN ALL WE DO.

The website confirms the former President will be headlining the event, “In his first visit to Washington, D.C. since leaving office, former President Donald J. Trump will deliver the closing address during the America First Policy Institute’s (AFPI) two-day America First Agenda Summit. The 45th President’s remarks will be delivered on July 26, 2022.”

Some of the featured topics during the America First Agenda Summit will include lowering energy and gasoline prices, combating historic inflation, giving parents more control of their children’s education, fighting crime in our cities, and securing the border.

The former president’s speech will close the summit, which will feature nearly a dozen panel discussions and presentations by leaders in Congress, governors, state officials, AFPI experts, and other distinguished guests.
