What did you expect from a President who doesn’t have the mental capacity to negotiate his way out of a paper bag, let alone cheaper oil from a Middle Eastern prince Biden pissed off just a few years ago by holding him responsible for the 2018 murder of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul? I digress…
Biden, while in the Middle East, met with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to urge Saudi Arabia to produce more oil in order to help the United States meet demand. The price of gas at the pump has skyrocketed in recent months and Americans are growing increasingly frustrated.
Prince Mohammed bin Salman delivered bad news to Biden while on his Middle Eastern trip that ends Sunday. The prince told Biden that Saudi Arabia is almost tapped out on increasing oil production.
The Saudi prince said that they will not have the capacity to produce beyond 13 million barrels per day.
According to the US Energy Information Administration, the country is currently producing approximately 10,211,000 barrels of crude oil per day.
Whether the Prince is playing hardball with the United States or they genuinely are at capacity is yet to be determined, but the fact of the matter is, that Biden has zero leverage as Americans continue to suffer at the pump, and the Crown Prince knows it.
Could this be payback for Biden’s remarks and attacks toward the Prince in 2018? Either way, the situation is not good back here in the United States, and unless something is done quickly (like opening the keystone pipeline, wink, wink), I don’t see our situation getting better anytime soon.
